For almost every genre there are British Television has a great series to offer which are absolutely amazing and imperishable.

So, here is the list of 7 must-watch British series which you can watch on Netflix (India):

1. Peaky Blinders

Peaky, Fucking, Blinders. Trust me when I say this, this show is top notch. It’s a British television crime drama set in the 1920s, Birmingham, England, in the aftermath of World War I. The series features stars like Cillian Murphy (Thomas ‘Tommy’ Shelby) and Tom Hardy (Alfie Solomons). The plot is based on how Thomas Shelby becomes the crime lord and his struggles. It’s a crime drama that you would wanna watch. It has classy gentleman gangsters wearing three-piece suits with flat caps. It Won a BAFTA Television Award in 2018 for Best Drama Series. 4 seasons have been aired and announcements say that the fifth season will be broadcasted in 2019.

2. Black Mirror

Next on the list is Black Mirror. In this series, every episode is a different story and the episodes are not interconnected to each other. The episodes are set in an alternative present or the near future, often with a dark and satirical tone, which shows the ill effects of technology on human life. Every episode puts your mind to question that what if this happens and what if that happens. There are many debates going around the internet too and every person has their own opinions, which is making it a rage among the watchers. My personal favorites are The National Anthem, White Christmas, Nosedive and Hang the DJ. The series has completed 4 seasons and is going to come back for the 5th one very soon.

3.  Sherlock

Next on the list is the series that needs no introduction. Sherlock is a crime drama television series based on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes, a detective story which is a 13 episode series with stars like Benedict Cumber batch as Sherlock Holmes and Martin Freeman as Doctor John Watson. It's a different Sherlock Holmes you see in this series, he is dark, he is funny, and he is everything you would want him to be. It’s one of the best crime series you can watch. It is a 4 season series where the fourth season of Sherlock has all-too-concluded, leaving fans reeling over numerous unanswered questions and an unquenched thirst for more mystery-solving. All things aside, it’s one of the best crime drama series out there and I wish that they come back with more seasons.

4. Luther

Luther is a British crime drama programme starring Idris Elba, that's probably enough said about the show because Idris Elba and his voice is enough to make you fall in love with this show. the plot revolves around Luther a DCI and how he catches criminals while also struggling with his inner demons. It's a show that has drama, suspense, emotion, and a lot more. in as of 2018, there are 4 seasons and 16 episodes aired and the 5th  season is gonna come out soon.

5. The Crown

The show is a biographical story about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom. The series where you get to know how Elizabeth II goes from being a housewife to the Queen of England and how it happens, what challenges she faced, and what made her the Queen we all know about.  The Crown was praised for its acting, directing, writing, cinematography, production values, and the relatively accurate historical account of Queen Elizabeth's reign. As of 2018, 2 seasons have been aired and has been renewed for a third and fourth season.

6. Broadchurch 

A young boy is found dead in a seemingly idyllic small town, and the detectives charged with solving the case turn up twist after twist in tracking down the murderer. The first series centers on the hunt for the killer while the second is on both the suspect’s trial and a reopened case from the past and the third one investigate a serious sexual assault. A word of warning, though: This isn’t one of those TV dramas you should binge even if you want to. It gets heavy and emotionally and exhausting. It has a total of 3 seasons.

7. Happy Valley

Happy Valley is a British crime drama television series based on Yorkshire police sergeant Catherine Cawood who pursues the man who assaulted her late daughter, unaware he is now part of a secret kidnapping plot. it's a jaw-dropping drama series which has won the BAFTA Award for Best Drama Series, it had won a TV Choice Award for Best New Drama and the actress Sarah Lancashire was named Best Actress at the same time. it has a total of 2 seasons already aired and it's gonna return for the 3 rd season soon.
